(USC) University of Southern California Summer Programs SUMMER IN LOS ANGELES

The University of Southern California is one of the world’s leading private research universities and home to an outstanding liberal arts college, an integrated academic medical center, and some of the best professional and arts schools in the country.

USC Summer Programs extends a tradition of excellence to outstanding high school students through unique 4 and 2 week summer courses. Accepted students to the USC Summer Programs will balance academic and campus life as they prepare for college in the nation’s entertainment center – Los Angeles, California.

All USC Summer Programs’ courses are taught by USC faculty and experienced professionals of the USC academic community. Summer Programs’ faculty create an engaging academic experience by combining lectures, hands-on workshops and labs, guest speakers, and academic field trips to locations throughout Los Angeles. Each course is designed to be more interactive, engaging, and challenging than accelerated high school classes or the broad introductory courses offered by other summer pre-collegiate programs.
American Legion Leadership Program FREE!! The American Legion sponsors a weeklong summer leadership program called

Boys State. This year's program will be held at McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland from June 21-27. If you are a junior interested in a leadership opportunity see your guidance counselor right away or apply online.

Columbia University Summer Programs
Grades 9-12 can study in New City at Columbia University.  One of the most prestigious institutions of higher learning.  11-12 graders can study in Spain!  Don't miss this opportunity.  Financial Aid is available.
DePaul Cinema and Interactive Media Summer Academy The summer academy is a week long program held at DePaul University's Loop campus in the month of July. High school students will receive hands-on instruction using the latest equipment and technology and will be taught by faculty from DePaul's School of Cinema and Interactive Media with real world experience. Areas of focus will include digital cinema production, 3D computer modeling and animation for games and cinema and computer game development.

Attendees will have access to up-to-date labs equipped with:

Toon Boom
Microsoft's XNA game development environment for the Xbox 360
Green screen stage
Motion capture studio
This intensive week-long session will provide motivated students with a valuable educational experience as well as an advantage in today's competitive world of college admission. Students interested in possible careers in the motion picture, television, or computer game industry should apply to this program.
