Transfer Students for Fall 2022-23

Hello Future Cavalier!
 
Thank you for your interest in Junipero Serra High School.  Transfer students can only enter JSHS in the 9th, 10th, or 11th grade.  We do not accept 12th-grade transfer students into Junipero Serra High School.
 
Fall Semester 2022-23 - Starts August 15, 2022
Application deadline: June 30, 2022
 
Here are the steps for transfer students.  Now let's get started!
 
Step 1:  Application
Step 2:  Submit Transcripts: FINAL REPORT CARD
  • Transfer Students(10th Grade or 11th Grade).  Please submit all high school transcripts for each grade level completed. Your official transcripts are due now as part of this step & process. 
  • Send transcripts to: [email protected] & [email protected]
  • NOTE: Transfer students with "D" and/or "F" grades are required to academically recover credits in order to be considered for admissions and receive a Serra diploma upon successful completion of senior year. Students must complete academic credit recovery with a passing grade of "C" or better.  All high school credit recovery needs to be completed by August 1, 2022. (See attachment below - JSHS Approved High School Credit Recovery Options).
 
Step 3:  Evaluations 
  • We need evaluations: Math teacher & English teacher.  Please send an email invite to the Math & English teacher through the application portal to complete the evaluation.  Note: You will need the email address for each to send the evaluation request through the application portal.

Step 4:  Student Interview  
  • Complete Steps #1 - #3 in the application process and then schedule your student interview.
  • After you have submitted the transcripts & evaluations, then send an email to schedule the student interview - email: [email protected] - with "Student Interview" in the subject line.  Currently, all interviews are conducted in person or via Zoom.  We will send you an invite link with available interview dates & times.  Remember to submit your final transcripts before scheduling the student interview.

Step 5:  Financial Aid (optional), if you would like to apply for financial aid for the steps below.  You can start this process while you are completing the application steps.

NOTE:  After all of the application steps (Step#1 - Step#5) have been completed with the Admissions Department, the next step is submitting your file to Director of Academic Counseling and to our Dean of Students for final approval.  The process for transfer students takes approximately 1 - 2 weeks for a decision on acceptance into Junipero Serra High School.
