Alumni Scholarship

There are not many opportunities to invest in a young person and witness the results of your investment. Serra’s Invest in Education program gives you that opportunity.

 

Students at Serra have a record of producing stunning academic success. This is easily measured by our students annual College and University acceptance record.  

 

Our difficulty is getting many of our students through Serra. Each year we have students drop out not because they are unable to perform academically; they drop out because their households do not have the resources for tuition. All of our households pay to the level they can. However, 80% of our students have a documented need for tuition assistance.

Ways to Give

Junipero Serra High School is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Your gift may be tax-deductible.

 

Cash Gifts
Cash gifts to Junipero Serra High School program help enhance our school programs and facilities and may provide tax savings to the donor. Checks should be made payable to "Junipero Serra High School" and mailed to:

Junipero Serra High School accepts gifts through our website, www.la-serrahs.org, by clicking on the GIVE button.

 

Credit Card

Junipero Serra High School also accepts gifts via credit card. These gifts can be made by calling the Development Office at (310) 324-6675 Ext. 1017 or by returning a donation for with your credit card number to the Development Office. Serra accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.


In-Kind Gifts
Gifts of physical assets, such as technology, furniture, musical instruments, etc., can be given for Junipero Serra High School's immediate benefit, as well as your year-end tax advantage. Items must be either new or be in good, working condition. By law, Junipero Serra High School cannot provide the donor with the dollar value of an in-kind gift. Such valuations when applicable need to be professionally assessed and certified. This is the responsibility of the donor.

Many businesses and corporations match gifts of their employees, spouses, and retired employees. Your company's personnel office (or Human Resources office) will be happy to provide you with information about its matching gift program.

Stock Transfer

All gifts of stock that are donated to Junipero Serra High School are done so through the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. 

 

To make a broker transfer, your broker needs the following written instructions:

Upon notice to your broker to request the transfer to the account of The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Los Angeles: 

The Archdiocese of Los Angeles Finance Office, Attention Doreen Rodriguez, indicating you wish this donation be directed to Junipero Serra High School
 
In the same letter, please identify yourself and provide your mailing address so that the Archdiocese may credit your donation properly
 
Identify the number of shares transferred and the name/type of stock (i.e. 100 shares of ABC Corporation)
 
Please send a copy of this written notice to Junipero Serra High School.
