Schoolwide Learning Expectations

I. Committed to their faith, the Serra Man and Woman will:
- Develop a personal relationship with God and demonstrate moral values.
- Support their church with time and resources.
- Dedicate time to their spiritual growth and prayer throughout their lives.
II. As Life Long Learners, the Serra Man and Woman will:
- Demonstrate consistent reading and writing skills at or beyond grade level expectation.
- Develop a proficiency in the use and application of technology.
- Create a history of academic success and recognize that learning is a lifelong process.
III. As Effective Communicators, the Serra Man and Woman will:
- Listen actively, formulating answers to questions that are sensitive to other opinions and views.
- Express ideas, concerns and opinions with consideration and sensitivity while being confident and poised.
- Evaluate between fact, fiction and opinion and convey information accurately through articulate speech and clear writing.
IV. As Responsible and Morally Aware Citizens, the Serra Man and Woman will:
- Accept authority and internalize laws, rules and their motivation.
- Take accountability and responsibility for their own actions.
- Lead a healthy lifestyle for their emotional and physical well-being.
- Strive to be active, positive role models in their community.
- Be sensitive to people of other creeds, cultures and genders in a diverse society.
- Evaluate legal and political issues in light of moral values.
- Respect human life from conception to natural death and work for social and economic justice in the world.
