After he transferred from Rosemead High in his sophomore year, Allen decided to hit the ground running. Now a senior, he is involved in everything from soccer to drama to the Academic Decathlon team. "Everyone was welcoming here, so it was easy to take advantage of all the activities and sports Serra has to offer." Allen made a point to join the French and Science clubs at just the right time. "It happened to be the years that we went to France and Costa Rica," he says with a smile. "I was pretty lucky to go on those two trips."
If his high school career is any indication of Allen's focus and determination, Loyola Marymount University should prepare themselves. He has made LMU his top choice and plans to study pre-law or psychology. As for advice to incoming freshmen, who are currently in the process of applying to Serra, he says, "Be yourself and get involved in something, anything. You don't have to play sports to go here, but you should show that you are interested in giving back."
