Memoir The Latino Club had been planning the Cinco de Mayo celebration for approximately six months and the day had finally arrived. We were ready, or so we thought. The d.j. hadn't arrived and the folkloric dancers were still missing. The curtains opened and the show had to begin. We began the historical play and ironically the colors (Serra colors) we had chosen to distinguish the two countries in battle were gang related colors. The program ended soon and the outcome was not what we had expected. As the president of the Latino Club, I had to speak up for everyone. I went on stage and stood in front of the school and tear up as I apologized for such a disaster. Now I have learned to always have a plan B.
