Hawaii junior guard Keith Shamburger, the former Serra High School star, has been named the Big West men’s basketball player of the week after leading the Rainbow Warriors to road wins over UC Davis and UC Irvine.
He averaged 15.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 7.5 assists in the two games and provided heroics with a couple of buzzer-beaters.
In the double-overtime win over Irvine, Shamburger hit a leaning three-pointer with two defenders all over hm with less than a second remaining to force the first OT.
