CIF Southern Section Update: 7-20-20

Dear Serra Community,

The CIF has released its athletic calendar for the 2020-2021 school year and provided us with a structure that will allow each athletic program to have a complete season. Due to the fluid nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, the traditional format of the athletic seasons has been changed. Below, I have highlighted the key aspects of the CIF memo that was released today. I have also attached the complete CIF memo for you to read as well.

1. There will be only a Fall & Spring season this year. The following Serra Athletic Programs will compete during the following season.

Fall (December 14^th- April 10^th) Spring (March 19^th - June 26^th)

Football Baseball

Girls Volleyball Boys/Girls Basketball

Cheer (Fall & Spring) Boys Soccer

Softball

Boys/Girls Track & Field

2. Each program will be allowed to play the same number of allotted contests as in years past.

3. Summertime rules have been extended, which will allow each athletic program the opportunity to practice from August through December. This is subject to change depending on health guidelines and CIF approved Phase 1 or 2 of the return to play protocol.

I pray this information find you well and it provides hope to our student-athletes who have been through some challenging times during the past five months. We will continue to provide a safe and loving environment when we return back to on campus workouts.
