2010 (Jan) Boys Basketball Coach Dwan Hurt wins his 400th game at Serra HS
(Feb) Both Boys and Girls Varsity Basketball Teams are Del Rey League Champions
(Mar) Girls Basketball defeats Valley Christian 66-47 at Mater Dei HS to win the CIF Southern Section Division 5AA title. This marks the first CIF crown for girls basketball and the first for Coach McKinsey Hadley
(Mar) Playing at the Honda Center in Anaheim, the Boys Basketball teams defeats Compton Centennial 62-48 to win the CIF Southern Section Division 3A title
(Mar) In the Division 3 State Championship game at Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield, California the Serra Cavaliers defeat Bishop O’Dowd from Oakland 63-59 in a thrilling overtime game to win the state title. The Cavs finished with an amazing record of 34-2
(Mar) Serra HS becomes the first school in the history of California to win state titles in both football and basketball in the same year
(May) Serra finishes its Boys Golf Season under the leadership of Head Coach Ken Weicks and Director of Golf Hector Rivera. This marks the re-introduction of the golf program to Serra after a 30 year hiatus.
(May) Both Boys and Girls Track teams win Del Rey League titles.
(May) The Serra Track Teams led by Coaches David Washington (Boys) and Lori Smith-Thompson (Girls) win CIF Titles at the Division IV titles at Carpinteria HS.
(June) Boys Track narrowly misses State Championship at the CIF State Track Meet in Clovis, CA. The boys finished second, two points out of first place.
(Aug) Serra HS is ranked for 2009-2010 as the top high school athletic program in California by ESPN Rise. Serra also named 4th best program in the United States.
(Sept) First ever Girls Golf Team competes inaugural season under the direction of Head Coach Angelique Johnson.
(Oct) In a sign of the growing presence of female athletes on campus, the first Girls Frosh Basketball team is formed.
(Nov) Under the direction of Head Coach Tony Mayrie, Serra Girls Volleyball captures its first ever league championship by going undefeated (8-0) in the Camino Real League. The team advances to the semi-finals of the CIF-SS playoffs before losing to Brethren Christian. This is the furthest Serra Girls Volleyball has ever advanced in the CIF playoffs.
(Nov) After moving into the Mission League, Football captures its first Mission League championship with an undefeated league season.
(Dec) Serra Football captures its second consecutive CIF-SS championship with a 35-10 win over Arroyo Grande in the Western Division championship game played at Serra HS.
(Dec) Serra is selected to participate in the State Championship Football Bowl game at the Honda Center but comes up short against Folsom HS. The football team finishes a great year with a 14-1 record.
2011 (Feb) Boys Soccer under the direction of Head Coach Ever Moratoya wins the school’s first ever league championship in that sport.
(Mar) The Serra Lady Cavaliers Girls Basketball team under Coach McKinsey Hadley wins back to back CIF titles by defeating St. Josephs from Santa Maria in the Division 3AA championship game at Anaheim Convention Center. The team advances all the way to the state semi-finals.
(May) The Serra Track teams once again win Division 4 CIF titles at Cerritos College. This makes nine out of the last ten for the boys and three in a row for the girls.
(Nov) After two back to back League Championships (2010 & 2011) and two years of dominating the Camino Real League; Serra Volleyball is elevated to the Del Rey League and moves from Division 4 to Division 2 in CIF-SS Playoffs.
2012 (Mar) The Boys Basketball team defeats La Verne Lutheran 69-59 at Anaheim Arena for the Division 4-AA CIF Southern Section Title. This marks the 6th CIF title for the boys program and the 2nd in the past 3 years.
(Mar) Serra Girls Basketball completes a 'three peat' by winning its 3rd CIF title in as many years. The Lady Cavaliers defeat Windward in thrilling fashion 82-77 in triple overtime.
(May) Serra Track again dominated the Division 4 CIF-SS meet at Mt. San Antonio College. Both the boys and girls teams win CIF titles giving the girls their 4th consecutive championship and the boys their 10th straight CIF plaque!
(June) Under the leadership of Coach Lori Smith-Thompson, the Serra Girls Track Team makes history by winning their first state championship in Clovis, CA. This marks school’s first ever female state title. The boys team narrowly misses their own state championship by finishing second.
(Dec) California holds its first ever Regional State Championship Football games and Serra is selected to face Edison of Huntington Beach in the Division II bracket. Serra defeats Edison 28-10 at Orange Coast College to win the southern region and moves on to the State Championship.
(Dec) In the Division II State Bowl game at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA, the Serra Cavaliers defeat Oakdale HS of Northern California 42-15 to become State Champions. This marks the schools 6th state championship and 2nd in football.
2013 (Mar) In a re-match of last years 4AA CIF championship, the boys basketball team defeats La Verne Lutheran 70-59 at Anaheim Arena. This marks back to back CIF titles for the boys and Coach Dwan Hurt.
(Mar) Serra Girls Basketball completes a historic run through the state playoffs and captures their first ever State Championship! The Lady Cavs defeat Salesian HS from Richmond at Arco Arena in Sacramento by a score of 62-60.
(May) The Boys Track & Field Team dominates the CIF-SS Finals meet and sets a record with 148 team points en route to winning their 20th CIF title.
(May) Led by Coach Wil Aaron, the Serra Baseball team wins their first ever CIF-SS title by defeating Mira Costa 8-1 in front of hundreds of fans at Dodger Stadium.
(June) After narrowly missing the title in 2010 and 2012, the Serra Boys Track & Field Team finishes a historic season by capturing the CIF State Championship. The team earned 47 points and finished with several individual champions during their two days in Clovis, CA.
(Dec) Legendary Serra Boys Basketball Coach Dwan Hurt reached a coaching milestone with his 500th career win. The game was a 71-57 victory over Oakley Freedom in the Modesto Christian Tournament.
