Serra’s boys basketball team had a stellar offensive showing on Monday afternoon to roll to a victory.
Powered by Ian Carter’s 23 points, Serra topped West Ranch 72-65 in an MLK Day Showdown win at La Salle High.
Carter didn’t do it alone, however. He was one of four players to score in double figures for Serra (9-9).
Jason Richardson added 16 points for Serra while Caleb Wilson chipped in 11.
Leonard Murray added 10 points for Serra, which returns to Del Rey League play Wednesday when it hosts St. Bernard at 7 p.m.
CLAREMONT 60, GARDENA 45 >> Gardena (15-4) suffered a loss in the MLK Classic at Los Osos High. Gardena plays at Banning today at 4 p.m. in a Marine League game.
