Ms. Amanda Koenigsberg
Hello!
My name is Ms. Koenigsberg (Ms. K.).
This will be my fifth year teaching and third year here at Serra as an English Teacher and Department Chair. I have a BA in English Literature from Loyola Marymount University, an M.A. in Creative Writing from Loyola Marymount University, and an M.F.A. from Antioch University. I teach (and have taught) English 12, English 12 Honors, English 11, English 11 Honors, 11th grade AP Language, and Creative Writing.
Aside from teaching, I love reading, writing (as a poet myself), doing yoga, being out in nature, and going to museums.
A quote I love and include at the end of every one of my emails is, "How can we begin to live through our imagination, instead of our indoctrination?" -Glennon Doyle, as imagination and individuality are essential to learning.
A saying among this community is that Serra is a special place and that statement couldn't be more true. Teaching has been my lifelong passion and it is a privilege to be working with our amazing students each day.
